Public and Media Relations: Tourism Kingston

Positioning Kingston Kingston as a successful and sustainable tourism destination known for its positive impact.

Tourism Kingston’s public relations program was created in partnership with Tartanbond, their public relations agency, and supported the Integrated Destination Strategy (IDS) to progress Kingston’s visitor economy. The program continues to put Kingston on the map as a top destination for leisure, meetings and events, sports, and creative industries, and positions Tourism Kingston as thought leaders and vital contributors to tourism and the local economy.

The approach included a dedicated earned media strategy guided by a three-year road map and annual strategic and quarterly tactical plan; proactive pitching to regional, national, and international media outlets; media and influencer hosting with planned itineraries in Kingston; and presence at key media tradeshows such as International Media Marketplace and the Travel Media Association of Canada.
